Vierendeel truss

The Vierendeel truss is one in which the numbers are not triangulated; the openings in the truss are polygonal, but not triangular. The frame has fixed joints that are capable of transferring and resisting bending moments. This contrasts with more commonly used trusses that are assumed to have pin joints with no bending moments at the jointed ends.
