Meta-Utopia – between process and poetry
18 November – 09 December 2016 /// Location: Zaha Hadid Gallery, 101 Goswell Road, London, EC1V 7EV
Meta-Utopia mobilises the new cutting edge design work from a diverse group of architects, designers and researching at the fading end of ‘the digital’. In contrast to previous generations of designers, the group of people brought together for this exhibition take pragmatic control over the horizon. With Promethean enthusiasm, they shape their own tools, operation and machines to help them achieve an architecture of unforeseen possibility, both pragmatic and poetic. Their utopias are latent, implied rather than manifest, remaining and improbable and uncertain.
The exhibition features work from designers from Wonderlab on The Bartlett School of Architecture’s MArch Architectural Design programme, including Daniel Widrig, Alisa Andrasek, Isaïe Bloch, Gilles Retsin, Manuel Jiménez García, Dağhan Çam and Guan Lee.
