Drawing One Building
Exploring architectural drawing through one building.
The Building: National Discovery Museum, Bangkok, Thailand
The National Discovery Museum in Bangkok addresses the continuing of motion within the urban structure. By intertwining the circulation patterns with the urban context, the building paths and open spaces overlap wise of the city. The architectural elements are geometrically aligned with the directional drifts of the urban grids — the direction to the river and with the river. Both the internal circulation follows the drift of geometry, with vertical and oblique circulation elements located at areas of confluence — or, collision. This journey of discovery offers the experience of a world to dive into rather than a building as an object.
